Day As Art ("the App," "we," "us") is a journaling app that turns your written memories into AI-generated illustrations. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it's used, and the choices you have. We built the App around a simple principle: your journal stays yours.
The App stores the following information directly on your device, using Apple's on-device storage frameworks:
None of this information is uploaded to, stored on, or backed up to any server we operate. We do not run a backend database of user accounts or journal content. There is no cloud sync in this version of the App.
We do not collect analytics, usage statistics, advertising identifiers, or crash reports that include your journal content. The App contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
To turn your written entry into an illustration, the text of that entry (combined with your selected mood and art style) is sent to our image-generation backend, which is hosted on Cloudflare Workers and uses a third-party AI image model to produce the illustration. This is the only circumstance in which your journal text leaves your device.
This backend processes your text solely to generate the requested image. It is not used to train any public or third-party AI model, it is not stored in any long-term server-side database we control, and it is not shared with advertisers or data brokers. The generated image is returned to your device and stored there like everything else.
If you choose to save a generated illustration to your device's Photos library, the App requests permission to add photos only. The App cannot read, browse, or access your existing photo library.
Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We never see, receive, or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID password. Apple's own privacy policy governs the information collected during the purchase process.
Your session information is stored in the device's Keychain, a secure, encrypted storage system provided by iOS. Journal entries, images, and account records are stored using Apple's on-device data frameworks, protected by your device's own passcode/biometric security.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information through the image-generation feature described above, please contact us using the details below so we can address it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
